I am all at ears if you talk about birds.
Yes, I am a bird person.
I have thirteen Love Birds.
Peaches is yellow green and has very soft fluffy feathers. She is the mother
bird who patiently sits on her eggs. Chesa and Chico were among her first clutch
of eggs. They are male birds and look identical; both are green with streaks
of yellow on their chest feathers. With these colors, you’d think they
are like any ordinary birds, but they are not. They are potty trained, with the
mother hen almost perfect in her toilet habits. They eat seeds of coursebut would
choose an apple over any seed. Every morning, they like to be served with sliced
apple and
Gerber baby foods on dinnertime.

Kiwi: is the father of Chico and Chesa. His
flight feathers are deep green but his chest is an aquamarine
blue. He loves to sit on our shoulders. One day, on February
26, 2000, my cousin walked out of the house with Kiwi on
her shoulders. Kiwi heard the black crows making a lot
of commotion on top of the palm trees; he got scared and
flew away. My heart broke into pieces the day we lost him,
since then we have never seen him again. Whenever it rains,
I worry where he is and I just hope someone has taken him
in his or her home. I still think about him a lot and whenever
I go at any park in the neighborhood, I make it a point
to look around and call his name out loud for my lovely,
lovely handsome Kiwi. |

Mellon is our adopted bird.
I love talking to him; he
nods and gives
you a kiss
on your
cheek when you
ask for one. (6/200)

He loves the sound of the water
and loves to take a bath on the sink. |
| Mango is a wonderful birthday gift
from Mother Peaches on the day of my birthday August

| Mango loves to sleep on our chests and get use
to sleep with a blanket and music playing |

I love cooking…
it is a therapy.

I love to cook, especially for people
who know how to appreciate Filipino cooking. We
believe that the amount of food consumed is
a measure of a cook’s success. In the
Philippines, it is a compliment to the cook
when the food is consumed to the “kettle’s
bottom”
I learned how to cook from watching my mother. Of course,
everything was home cooking. For special meals, I use recipe
books. My favorite cooking sites are as follows:
